Come out to the Kirkland Library (308 Kirkland Avenue) on Tuesday, March 31, for a discussion of my latest book An Island to Myself: The Place of Solitude in an Active Life.

I’ll be talking about my early experiences with solitude on the Greek island of Patmos; other places I’ve sought solitude nearer to home; and the ways spending periodic time alone while continuing to live an active life has deepened my creativity, understanding, and relationships.
My short talk will be followed by an interview and time for attendees to ask questions.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and my talk begins at 6:30 p.m. The evening is sponsored by the library and the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Seattle. We’ll all be heading down to a local beer garden afterward. I hope you can join us!
You’ll find more information on the Kirkland library page for the event.
